In a chilling morning encounter in Harris County, a 14-year-old boy, home alone, made a harrowing decision that ended with a man dead on their doorstep. 

A BURGLAR FOUND SHOT OUTSIDE

The incident, occurring just before 7 a.m. on Brownsville Street, has sparked intense community and law enforcement scrutiny. Authorities, responding to the scene, discovered a man shot outside a residence. 

Early investigations suggest the individual might have been attempting to enter homes in the neighborhood, with reports of door-knocking and suspicious activity preceding the fatal encounter. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez detailed that the man seemed to be tampering with the home's front door, though it remains unclear if he had gained entry.

TEXAS TEEN TAKES QUICK ACTION

The teenager, startled by the presence of an unknown man at his door, took decisive action by firing several shots, striking the man who was later found wearing gloves and a backpack – items often associated with burglary attempts. Neighbors had also reported similar suspicious attempts by a man matching the description earlier that morning.
