Family-Friendly Fun At Victoria's Annual Fourth Of July Event

It's always fun when the Fourth of July falls on a Friday. As always, the City of Victoria is hosting a big Fourth of July celebration at the Victoria Community Center Fairgrounds. The celebration is scheduled for Friday, July 4, from 3:30-10:30 p.m.

Get ready for live music and fireworks:

Trey Gilleland, Pat Matula & The Lone Star Playboys, Chris Zuber Band, and Rewind Texas are scheduled to perform. The night will close out with an epic fireworks display at sundown featuring a new company. Bring your lawn chairs, friends, and family for an unforgettable evening. Let’s celebrate freedom, community, and summer fun together! Oh yeah, this is a FREE event.

Some of you may have seen fireworks stands currently open for business. You can buy fireworks twice a year. During the Fourth of July season, you can buy fireworks from June 24 - July 4. For the New Year's season, you can buy from December 20 - January 1.

What to do if you are burned:

If you happen to get burned here is the best practice for medical treatment. Consider the the THREE C's; Cool - Call - Cover. It is recommended to call 911 if your burn areas is larger than the size of your palm. It is also recommended that you do not use cold water to help cool the burn. Use slightly cool water.
