NOTICE: TX Storm Closing Crossroads Schools Tuesday and Wednesday

Victoria Independent School District and Calhoun County have issued school closures for Tuesday ahead of the pending wintery weather headed our way.

Due to the anticipated winter weather and its potential impact on local/travel conditions, Victoria ISD will be closed on Tuesday, January 21, and Wednesday, January 22, 2025. This decision has been made early to provide our families and staff with as much time as possible to make necessary arrangements.

This decision has been made early to allow staff and families ample time to make necessary arrangements. Hazardous roadways are expected, including refreezing overnight Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures are not forecasted to rise above freezing the early part of next week.

All district campuses and offices will be closed, and all scheduled events for both days will be canceled or rescheduled.

Calhoun County ISD schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 21, due to the winter weather conditions. Please stay home, keep warm, and be safe.

On Wednesday, Jan. 22, Calhoun County ISD schools are scheduled to begin two hours later than normal, so for example, if your school normally begins at 7:45 a.m., on Wednesday, your school will begin at 9:45 a.m. The morning bus route on Wednesday, January 22 will also run two hours later than normal. So for example, if your child normally catches the bus at 7 a.m., on Wednesday, your child would catch the bus at 9 a.m.

This will be our plan as determined today (1/17/25) based on weather forecasts and variables. If there are any other changes or updates to the plan for next week, that information will be sent to parents and also posted at www.calcoisd.org and on the Calhoun County ISD Facebook page.

(Monday, Jan. 20 is still a school holiday for MLK, Jr. Day, as previously scheduled on the instructional calendar.)
