How Is Your Health Victoria- Inquiring Minds Want to Know
Okay it's the Victoria County Health Department who is inquiring, but we all want to know... where are Victorians when it comes to health in Texas.
The Victoria County Public Health Department, in collaboration with United Way of the Crossroads and local organizations, is conducting a Health Assessment this year. The assessment is designed to measure the health status of Victoria residents and identify various factors contributing to their health.
The Victoria Health Department Needs You!
Information gathered from this process is important for prioritizing and planning locally. The assessment consists of a household and online surveys, community discussion groups, and examining existing data from various reliable sources. The assessment now needs to hear from individual residents in the online survey.
The Survey Takes Just A Few Minutes
The survey asks respondents about their quality of life, access to health care, chronic disease, preventive screenings, health habits, and their thoughts about community issues. The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete and is available in English and Spanish.
To take the survey, visit the link: tx.ag/victoriasurvey or access the survey from the Victoria County Public Health Department’s website. The survey is only open to residents of Victoria County.
Those who complete the survey can enter a drawing for one of 10 $100 gift cards.
The assessment results will help local organizations and the County understand the health related needs of local residents. In other communities, similar assessment results have been used to secure funding to develop and improve health infrastructure and access to care in initiatives that have focused on issues like rural transportation, mental health services, service coordination, patient education, physical activity, and medication assistance.
The final assessment findings are expected to be available in November 2024.
