Urn With Ashes Allegedly Found on Texas Goodwill Shelf
I have started to see this story multiple times on my social media feed, and it makes me very sad. Tina Soto was shopping at a Goodwill on Southwest Military Drive in San Antonio and found an urn on the shelf. Inside the urn were ashes.
A heartbreaking find at Goodwill.
The pink urn was priced at $5.99. It also had a teddy bear on it. If this is true, it is heartbreaking to think of a situation where a parent would have to sell the ashes of their baby girl. Tina says she walked out of the store crying after seeing the urn.
Goodwill denies that ashes were in the urn.
Goodwill confirmed to mysanantonio.com, that the urn was empty after being inspected by two employees.
"The donated item was reviewed by two team members — a production associate and assistant manager — and determined the condition of the item to be like new' and unused, prior to being placed on the sales floor. The donated item has since been purchased and is no longer at the store."
Social media has many examples of this happening at Goodwill.
