It’s no secret that there are plenty of bad drivers in Texas. But which city has the worst? 

I don’t know what it is about there being more bad drivers in some towns. I’ve always chalked it up to being the culture of the community. Bad habits tend to rub off on others. 

For instance, here in Wichita Falls, I see a serious lack of turn signal use. I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that someone ticks me off by not using their turn signal before pulling into the parking lot as I’m waiting to exit at least five times a week (and it’s probably more than that if I were to keep a log).

Another terrible habit I encounter all the time is drivers going slower than the speed limit in the left lane. Hell, I’ll probably have to pass someone on the right on the way home from work today. 

And don’t get me started on the number of drivers I see on their phones in this town.

It’s so bad that Wichita Falls was ranked the 3rd worst city for drivers in the Lone Star State in a study conducted last year. The good news is that we weren’t ranked among the 5 worst Texas cities for drivers in a recent study by LendingTree. 

And the city with the worst drivers in Texas is... 

You’ll want to be especially careful when navigating the roads in Brownsville. With just over 15 driving incidents per 1,000 drivers, the Texas border town was ranked as the city with the worst drivers in the state.
