Human Remains Found Confirmed to be Missing Texas Woman
Recently discovered human remains put an end to a tragic weeks-long search for a Texas woman who went missing while on vacation with her husband.
IDENTITY CONFIRMED OF HUMAN REMAINS FOUND
The Grand County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the human remains discovered on July 22 belong to Miranda Ankofski, who went missing with her husband during their annual Moab trip in June.
Miranda and her husband, Ray Ankofski, both from Texas, disappeared on June 21. The couple had been out for an off-road adventure when they failed to return, leading to their vehicle being found abandoned in the area.
AN EXTENSIVE SEARCH REVEALS HUMAN REMAINS
After an extensive search, human remains were found, but it took until Saturday for officials to positively identify them as Miranda Ankofski. The discovery brings closure to a tense and heartbreaking search that had gripped their family and the community.
"The Grand County Sheriff's Office extends its deepest condolences to Miranda Ankofski's family and friends during this difficult time," said a press release. "We understand the profound impact this news may have on the community and are committed to providing updates as more information becomes available."
The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the couple's disappearance.
