Registered Sex Offender’s Body Mutilated in Houston Funeral Home

The body of a registered sex offender was viciously mutilated while being prepared for cremation at a Houston, Texas funeral home.

34-year-old Amber Paige Laudermilk was an embalmer who worked at Memorial Mortuary and Crematory in Houston. Laudermilk has been accused and charged for committing a shocking crime she committed at work.

On Feb. 7, 2025, Laudermilk was preparing the body of 58-year-old, Charles Roy Rodriguez for cremation. During the preparation, Laudermilk allegedly chopped off Rodriguez's penis and stuffed it into his mouth. According to records, she also stabbed the body with a scalpel.

Deceased Man's Past Crimes Possibly Triggered Laudermilk

Surprisingly, Laudermilk wasn't alone, two people in the room caught a glimpse of what she was doing.

When Laudermilk finished mutilating the body of Rodriguez, who was a registered sex offender, she turned to an embalming trainee and said, "You didn’t see anything.” in a threatening tone, the affidavit states.

After the incident, the funeral director noticed Laudermilk "fondling the mouth of the decedent." The director asked Laudermilk about Rodriguez's groin area, questioning how it became so disfigured. Although, Laudermilk allegedly claimed he had "a lot going on with him," and proceeded to cover his lower body up.

Precinct One Constable Alan Rosen said in the statement:

“I don’t know the suspect’s past, but we have the utmost empathy for anyone who has been the victim of a sexual assault or is the family or friend of someone who has been the victim of a sexual assault."

However, Rosen also points out that no matter how people felt about the deceased man, there were still legalities that needed to be upheld, "No matter what one thinks of his life, the law requires that he be treated with dignity in death."

“The facts clearly indicate she was angry and I hope after this is resolved in the courts, she gets the help she needs," Rosen added.
