A kindergarten teacher out of Houston ISD is being charged with injury to a child-a felony offense, after reacting terrifyingly to a young student.

Among the multiple pickups announced at CBS' 2013 Upfront presentation, notably absent was the presence of the Ari Graynor-fronted 'Bad Teacher' adaptation, which had previously been seen as an attractive prospect for the network. History has not been kind to TV shows based on hit movies, but it's easy to imagine the folks at CBS looking at the box office success of 'Bad Teacher' and thinking "Well, maybe this time..." The pilot for the Cameron Diaz-less television adaptation is slowly coming together and it has found its first cast member in David Alan Grier.

Another sequel cruises into theaters this weekend by way of Pixar’s ‘Cars 2,’ with Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) back for another fast-paced adventure – this time, at the first-ever World Grand Prix. Reviews haven’t been too kind for the movie, but given Pixar’s recent successes, ‘Cars 2′ should have no problem taking the number-one spot at the box office.
