With the news that every Texan adult will now be eligible to receive the COVID vaccine beginning on Monday, March 29th, coupled with big local news that another 1st dose vaccine HUB will open Thursday, April 1st, for Victoria, we knew our Public Health Department Director, David Gonzales, would be willing to answer any questions Victorians may have about these two big news stories.

We interviewed Mr. Gonzales today for the Townsquare Extra Victoria Report that airs on Sundays at each of our stations and fueled by Rox Diesel, so we invite you to listen to his interview in its entirety on air Sunday, but we also wanted to offer you some of the most important aspects of the conversation here as well. Here are some of the answers to the most commonly answered COVID vaccine questions for Victoria.

First and foremost, in order to be eligible to receive the vaccination through Victoria's HUB which will be opened on April 1st at the Victoria Community Center, you must FIRST REGISTER by visiting victoriawaitlist.com

Registration only takes a few minutes and once you register you will be notified when your name is randomly drawn via computer to receive your Moderna vaccine. Mr. Gonzales offers that currently Victoria has the Moderna vaccine but the Johnson and Johnson vaccine may be available in Victoria soon as well.

You are offered a date to receive your vaccine when you're notified via email or text after your name is selected. At this time you are not eligible to choose a date to receive the vaccine as this is predetermined by the HUB coordinators, however, you DO get to choose the time you want to come in.

Mr. Gonzales says the HUB clinics in Victoria are running smoothly and most community members are amazed and appreciative of the easy process of being vaccinated once they arrive at the HUB. Mr. Gonzales estimates the vaccine process including wait time is less than 20 minutes.

Mr. Gonzales offers that his best guess is that by the end of April 2021, anyone in Victoria who is willing to be vaccinated for COVID 19 will have had the opportunity to do so.

If you have any questions, you are encouraged to call the Victoria COVID hotline number at 1.888.966.5640.

Be sure to listening Sundays for Townsquare Extra Victoria Report for full interviews that matter most to the community, as this Sunday's March 28th interview in its entirety with Mr. David Gonzales, Victoria Public Health Department Director.
