17 Year Old Faces False Police Report Charges
The alleged box cutter stabbing incident that resulted in some Victoria area school lockdowns this week resulted in a 17-year-old being charged with filing a false police report.
Ethan Perez of Victoria allegedly called police on Tuesday about a stabbing incident at a home on Red River Street. A police investigation found that the initial call was a false one. The caller claimed that he was stabbed by someone with a box cutter while standing in his yard adding that the attacker fled on foot. After a search of the area, no suspect was found, and police later said the injuries suffered by the victim were the result of a domestic incident. Perez was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for non-nife-threatening injuries.
Area school campuses including UHV, Victoria College, Crain Elementary and Our Lady of Victory were on lockdown as a precaution. Some area businesses were also locked down as a precaution.
