Happy National "Twilight Zone" Day! "Twilight Zone" day lands every year on May 11th, as for the reason why- we don't know! The show didn't debut in May, it debuted in October of 1959 (just in time for Halloween!). May 11th also doesn't have direct link to Rod Serling, the iconic host, it's neither his birthday nor his death date. So why is National "Twilight Zone" day on May 11th? The answer itself lies in the Twilight Zone.

I've always enjoyed "The Twilight Zone". I watched a lot of (what is now considered) classic TV when I was younger. One would say that my love of shows like "Bewitched", "The Addams Family" and "The Munsters" are to blame for my love of all things spooky.

"The Twilight Zone", though, was something completely different. From the opening theme, to Rod Serling's narration, to my favorite ride at Disney- The Tower of Terror, I love all things "Twilight Zone"- I didn't even mind the Jordan Peele reboot of the show!

Although some episodes of the series were spooky, what the show really did was open your mind and make you reflect; who's to say that a gremlin on the wing of an airplane isn't possible? (Nightmare at 20,000 Feet BTW) I'm sure for many, Rod Serling's narration was enough to give you chills.

As a great way to celebrate today, here are six episodes you should totally watch and soon, you too will be traveling to "another dimension. A dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land of imagination. Next stop—The Twilight Zone."
