Aransas County Grass Fire Causes Smoky Crossroads
If you've noticed a little smokiness in the air the last day or two, it's because of a controlled burn at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge.
Victoria County Fire Marshall Richard Castillo said the burn is some 1,700 acres, and it's designed to restore coastal habitat by reducing invasive woody species.
The smoke is drifting due to the wind and other weather conditions but, officials say it should only be a problem for people with serious breathing issues.
