MASSIVE AMOUNT OF BEEF PRODUCTS RECALLED

Over 120,000 pounds of ground beef products "may have been contaminated with E. coli O103," according to an announcement by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

WHERE WAS THE BEEF DISTRIBUTED TO?

The ground beef products were produced from February 1, 2022, through April 8, 2022, and have been distributed to retailers across the entire nation.

The problem was discovered during routine testing of imported products.

The two main brands involved with the possible contamination are Thomas Farms and Marketside Butcher, however, you can read the full list HERE.

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR PRODUCT IS AFFECTED?

There have been no confirmed reports of illness or adverse reactions due to the consumption of these products. However, Consumers who have purchased the potentially contaminated products are advised not to consume those products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF E.COLI

The CDC lists common symptoms:

  • Diarrhea (often bloody)
  • Vomiting
  • Fever(less than 101˚F)

Most people recover within a week however severe but rare illnesses can occur.

More severe symptoms include:

  • Easy bruising
  • Pallor
  • Decreased urine output

 If you experience these symptoms seek emergency medical care immediately.
