A Texas favorite will soon become a Texas beer.

There are a handful of things that are synonymous with Texas. The Dallas Cowboys, Dr Pepper, Whataburger and of course, Big Red.

Islla Street Brewing Co. out of San Antonio, has announced that they'll be releasing "Big Rojo" on July 22. Big Rojo uses Big Red syrup in their new beer to give it that Big Red taste.

According to My San Antonio, It's being described as a "subtlety tart Berliner body finished with REAL Big Red syrup for the iconic sweet smooth finish of the soda that was made for Texas."

A quick history of Big Red. Created in Waco, TX in 1937 by Grover C. Thomsen and R.H. Roark and was originally called Sun Tang Red Cream Soda. It's a mixture of orange and lemon mixed with vanilla and so refreshing on a hot summer day.

July 22nd is the distribution date but as of now.I'm not sure where we'll find it, but I'll let you know.
