Chris Pratt Says ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ Will Be the Greatest Film of All-Time, May Be Exaggerating
Filming on Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 is set to begin next month, but star Chris Pratt is already getting himself ready for his return to space. The actor, already in Atlanta where the film is being shot, took a photo of himself in costume, listening to “Awesome Mix, Vol. 2" on his walkman and posted a message for all the Marvel fans out there promising Guardians 2 would be the “greatest spectacle film of all time.”
OK, so Pratt is definitely a little excited for Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 and may be prone to exaggerating, but cut the man some slack; this is the movie that made him a star. Here’s what Pratt had to say:
Pratt, along with the rest of the cast, was on hand a recent table read of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 script and director James Gunn later confirmed that all the film’s major roles, including Star-Lord’s father and the film’s villain, have already been cast. Kurt Russell had been in talks to play the former, and assuming we haven’t heard that he’s dropped out, we’ll guess that negotiations went well and he’s officially part of the team. Gunn and Marvel had earlier approached Matthew McConaughey about playing the film’s villain, but McConaughey reportedly turned down the role.
With filming fast approaching, you can expect a formal announcement from Disney and Marvel in the coming days and weeks. Whoever is going to join the cast, they’re going to be joining Chris Pratt who is pretty damn excited.
Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 opens in theaters on May 5, 2017.
