Circle T Arena Wild Horse and Burro Adoption
Wild horses and burros are up for adoption at the Circle T Arena in Hamilton, Texas on March 6th and 7th.
The Bureau of Land Management will hold an adoption event over two days in March. 75 wild horses and burros will be at the Circle T Arena and beginning on Friday, March 6th. Adoptions will be held from noon to 6 PM on Friday, and from 8 AM to noon on Saturday. BLM staff will be onsite to give you all the information about the animals that weekend.
The BLM is really hoping to find all of these animals a new home. To help move the animals the BLM is going to offer up to $1000 to adopt an untrained animal. This adoption incentive will be offered for every animal in attendance that weekend.
The horses and burros at the event are adults and yearlings. They once roamed free on public lands out west. From time to time the BLM removes excess horses and burros from the range to maintain healthy herds and protect rangelands. Since the 70s the BLM has found homes for over 235,000 animals.
You must be at least 18 to adopt with no record of animal abuse. There are space requirements you must pledge to meet before the adoption can be finalized. All that information will be available the weekend of the event.
Circle T Arena is at 4007 West HWY 36 in Hamilton, Texas. Get additional info at 1-866-468-7826. Click here to see more info from the BLM online.
