Footage of David Olivarez Performing 'El Sonador' Live For the Fi

This is what I love about social media: some of the most random and awesome things pop up. Over the weekend, I came across a video showing a very young David Olivarez performing his iconic hit "El Sonador" live for the very first time.

The song is so new in the video that he is still reading the lyrics as he sings.

However, at the time, he did not know the song would be a hit. In fact, at the time, "El Sonador" was not even the title of the song.

In the video, you hear him introduce the song as "Si Tu." He was also singing while still reading the lyrics off a sheet of paper. That's how new the song was

'El Sonador' is one of the greatest Tejano songs of all time.

'El Sonador' was featured on his 'Aqui Esta' album.

"El Sonador" was featured on David's second full-length album entitled "Aqui Esta," and the whole thing is absolute fire. It also included another smash hit for David, "Ven Conmigo Carinito." This album launched David's career, which led extended run at the top of the Tejano charts.

David Olivarez will be a part of a huge show in Houston on Friday, February 13 in Houston at the Arena Theater. He will be performing alongside Grupo Solido and La Firma for an epic Valentines show.
