If you are looking for a road trip this weekend. The City of Mathis, which is only about 80 miles from Victoria is hosting Freedom Fest which features a top-notch Tejano lineup. Here is the awesome news, the event is free.

Two days of free entertainment in Mathis, Texas.

The event will take place in downtown Mathis on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27 and features a DJ, Tejano and Country music. Here are the finalized set times.

Friday, June 26

5 p.m. - 7 p.m. DJ Reed and DJ R2

The festivities will start on Thursday with a parade in downtown Mathis.

As with any South Texas festival, there will be ice cold beverages, incredible food vendors and family fun. There will also be the annual Freedom Fest Run/Walk. This year, all proceeds will benefit our local Mathis Volunteer Fire Department The weekend will kick off with a parade on Thursday, June 25,
