10-Year-Old TX Girl Stabs Man to Desperately Try to Save Her Mom

A heartbreaking situation led a 10-year-old girl to stab a man who was assaulting her mother at an apartment complex in Texas.

PHYSICAL ASSAULT IN A PARKING LOT

A little girl will forever be impacted by a quick series of events that unfolded in an apartment complex parking lot in Houston, Texas. The 10-year-old girl and her mother were in the parking lot when a man began to physically assault the child's mother. 

DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO SAVE HER MOTHER

In a desperate attempt to save her mother, the little girl stabbed the man.

 Harris County, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reflected on the situation tweeting, "Awful situation for a 10-year-old little girl to have to witness and experience."

Police were dispatched to the parking lot and found the man who had a stab wound in his leg. He was taken to a hospital and reported to be in "fair condition."

A HEARTBREAKING IMPACT

The psychological impact this could have on the young girl is unimaginable. A child feeling so desperate to save her parent that she resorts to stabbing someone is heartbreaking. Sheriff Gonzalez adds, "Children who witness abuse of their mothers, fathers, or other family members, are impacted."

One person responded to Sheriff's Gonzalez tweet mentioning, "I hope the kid is not charged," while another said, "Give her a parade in her honor and the key to the city."

No charges have been posted as of yet.
