Former Deep Purple and Black Sabbath member Glenn Hughes was announced as the new singer and bassist with the Dead Daisies, replacing John Corabi and Marco Mendoza in the band.

The new lineup – Hughes, former Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich, ex-Journey drummer Deen Castronovo and David Lowy – released their first song together, “Righteous Days,” along with the announcement.

You can listen to the track below.

“The Dead Daisies are a musical collective whose members come together through a common love for great rock music,” a statement read. “It's a living, breathing, musical organism with the credo, ‘Rock is indeed alive and well!’  From the band’s inception, the idea was for members to bring their own ideas to the table but also have the flexibility to come and go when working on their other projects. Both John and Marco are, and always will be, a part of the Dead Daisies musical family, but at this point in time they have decided to do some work on their own solo projects.”

The statement also pointed out that the "guys have recently been in the studio in L.A. recording some new music with legendary singer and bass player Glenn Hughes. … David, Doug, Deen and Glenn head back into the studio later in the year to finish the album and look forward to seeing you on the road in 2020! Get out there, live your life and just enjoy the music!"

Former Motley Crue singer Corabi and ex-Thin Lizzy bassist Mendoza both appeared on the Dead Daisies' second, third and fourth studio albums. Previous band members have included Richard Fortus, Dizzy Reed and Frank Ferrer of Guns N’ Roses, among many others.
