Gov. Abbott's press conference was held yesterday which featured his plan to finish building the Southern Wall.

Gov. Abbott announced last week in a Del Rio press conference that he was going to present a plan to finish building what is widely known as "the Southern Wall". He also offered at that time that he had created a special task force known as the Governor's Task Force on Border and Homeland Security that included hiring additional military and law enforcement officers to tighten border security and make more arrests of illegal immigrants.

Abbott cited that the border had become a 'humanitarian crisis.'

I've been heartbroken to see children on the news who have been separated from their parents, somehow making it crossing the border or over walls, without their families. News source numbers varying greatly on the total count of children who are quite literally stuck in the middle.

We have been waiting to hear the plan. Here is our article from June 11th to recap.

Here is a part of how the wall could be funded.

Yesterday, Gov. Abbott offered live that in order to complete the construction of the Southern Wall, he would be crowdfunding of sorts announcing that donations were now going to be accepted to help finish constructing the Southern Wall. Gov. Abbott offered that he promises, “Great transparency,” saying “everyone will know every penny in, every penny out, but the sole purpose for those funds will be going to build the border wall.”

Gov. Abbott also announced that $250 million dollars of seed money will be allocated from the Texas prison systems.

Anyone in the world can donate to help build the wall and the link to the website to donate can be accessed here.
