Happy Birthday to Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits

Officially his birthday was yesterday (August 12) but, today we say Happy 69th to Dire Straits founding member and guitarist Mark Knopfler.

He brought a unique fingerpicking style and sound to rock n' roll, not to mention his legendary songwriting. Classic Rock staples like 'Money for Nothing', 'Sultans of Swing' and 'Industrial Disease' will live on forever.

I ran across this tribute to the song 'Sultans of Swing' on You Tube, which is a little different, it's a flamenco approach by Tommy Emmanuel, John Jorgenson, Pedro Javier González. Enjoy!
