Heartwarming Texas Christmas Tradition With HEB Feast of Sharing

It truly is better to give than to receive.

I mean just look at that smile, even with one of them wearing a mask.

H.E.B. welcomes you to become a part of one of their most heartwarming Christmas traditions, Feast of Sharing, December 16th, brought to you by Meals on Wheels South Texas, sponsored by H.E.B.

Meals on Wheels South Texas will deliver 1,000-holiday meals to homebound individuals in Victoria County and in Cuero on Friday, December 16^th.

The meals are sponsored by H-E-B as part of the chain’s Feast of Sharing. The H-E-B Feast of Sharing is a series of festive gatherings that include more than 340,000 meals served during 34 dinners throughout Texas and Mexico. It will be Meals on Wheels South Texas’ third year participating in this monumental and rewarding event, taking H-E-B’s celebrated feast to homebound members of our community.

But in order to make this work, they are going to need lots of volunteers.

A lot of volunteers.

The event is on December 16th but, Executive Chef Brenda Amaya offers, “This takes weeks of preparation." She goes on offer that even with the hard work ahead, "the kitchen is working hard to make sure every recipient gets a nice, warm Christmas meal for Feast of Sharing.”

To volunteer in the kitchen during the preceding Tuesday through Thursday (Dec 13-15), contact our volunteer manager at volunteer@mowstx.org or call 361-576-2189.

They will need help 8 am-3 pm.

Sign up to deliver meals by phone or email or via mowstx.org. In consideration of the surrounding neighborhood and potential traffic, pickups are staggered at 11 am, 12 pm, and 1 pm.
