Here’s the Impeccably-Timed New Trailer for Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard’s ‘Allied’
Brangelina is no more, love is dead, and oh, by the way, here’s the first trailer for a new movie starring Brad Pitt. Paramount no doubt figured they might as well take advantage of his name trending on Twitter and release the trailer for Allied. Or the trailer release was scheduled for today all along, in which case it would be quite a coincidence.
Allied stars Pitt and Marion Cotillard as two people on the Allied side of World War II who meet in Africa, fall in love, and are reunited later where they try to continue their relationship. But it seems all is not well on the home front, as it looks like there’s something about Cotillard that isn’t quite right. The film looks like it could be a fantastic case study on how espionage affects relationships: When you’re both spies, even if you’re on the same side, can you really trust each other?
Here’s the official synopsis:
Allied is the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt), who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war.
Robert Zemeckis, yes, that Robert Zemeckis, of Cast Away and Forrest Gump, directed the film, with a script by Eastern Promises scribe Steven Knight, and also stars Lizzy Caplan, Matthew Goode, Raffey Cassidy, Charlotte Hope, and Jared Harris.
Allied will be in theaters November 23.
