Houston Home Engulfed in Flames as Irate Man Refuses to Come Out
A Texas home was engulfed in flames after an abrasive man set his own home on fire during a domestic dispute.
28-year-old Pablo Patino was caught on a home security camera setting fire to a home his estranged wife was staying in. The man is seen lighting an item on fire, throwing it at the house door, and running away with an object eerily similar to a gasoline can.
According to authorities, Patino is believed to have set 6 different fires around a home his wife and her 11-year-old daughter were staying in. During one terrifying incident, Patinos wife, her parents, and two siblings were woken up in the middle of the night by the family dog, alerting them of a fire.
Things took a terrifying turn when Patinos wife requested police to escort her to his home while she picks up a few of her items, Police searched the home before letting her inside but quickly found Patino in a room.
Patino informed the officers he had a gun, and a standoff ensued. Officers retreated but continued to work with Patino to get him out of the home. Officials admitted, "We knew who he was we knew how violent he was."
In a drastic turn of events, smoke began streaming out of the home. Still, Patino refused to come out, even as flames began to engulf the entire roof of the home.
A robot was sent inside the home to engage with Patino. As it went up to try and open a door that was on the attic, Patino was seen by the operators on the video." He threw items at the robot and continued to harbor himself inside the fiery home.
The live stream catches the moment Patino finally decides to come out. He is seen dangling from the roof of the home and finally jumps down with some assistance.
Patino was quickly handcuffed. He was taken to a hospital and remains in custody. His current charges are arson of a habitation, violation of a protective order, and aggravated assault; which were assigned from the previous encounters. More charges will be released as officials continue to clear the scene.
