Houston Thieves Steal Pot of Menudo During Restaurant Break-In
Only in Texas will someone steal a pot of menudo during a break-in. Over the weekend, a break-in occurred at the Tacos Dona Lena restaurant in the Heights area of Houston. According to abc13.com, the store was robbed of food, equipment, and merchandise.
Were these thieves gonna have a party?
The suspects also stole a pot of menudo, 3-24 packs of Mexican Coca-Cola, a rice cooker, and a chicharron. I mean, if you are stealing menudo, it must be really good. I am gonna have to find this place and try the menudo next time I am in Houston. This location has been robbed before.

Menudo was a special treat in my house growing up.
Just like many Hispanic households, my grandma lived with us. Which means, we were spoiled by some incredible homemade Mexican foods such as tamales, menudo, and fresh homemade tortillas. I still remember the smells while she was preparing these awesome foods. What great memories.
Some will even say menudo is the best cure for hangovers. Check out the comedy bit by Willie Bacerna that pokes fun at menudo being a cure; however, he does make some good points.
