Well, this looks like a movie that is going to make a gabillion dollars.

It has Jennifer Lopez teaching you how to strip. It has Constance Wu coming off the hugely successful Crazy Rich Asians. It’s got a heist film vibe. It has a get-revenge-on-Wall-Street-fat-cats message. It basically checks all the boxes. Watch the trailer for Hustlers above; here is the official synopsis:

Hustlers follows a crew of savvy former strip club employees who band together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients. The film was inspired by the article published by New York Magazine entitled “The Hustlers at Scores” written by Jessica Pressler.

As noted, the film is based on a true story, so be wary when reading about the story if you don’t want to spoil the end of the movie. The screenplay was written by director Lorene Scafaria, whose previous movies include Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. This looks ... a lot different from those films? But it’s a really good trailer; like Magic Mike mixed with Ocean’s 8. (This might have been how the concept was pitched to the studio for all I know.) Hustlers opens in theaters on September 13.
