Congratulations to Anthony Lopez Our Student of the Week
Some of the most incredible stories come from times when Townsquare Media asks for community participation, especially when it comes to highlighting kids in our community.
This month we've been encouraging our Crossroads community to brag on kids who excel in sports and in academics. Today we're going to highlight a young man who excels in being independent and intrinsically motivated to succeed.
This story is another example of the beauty in asking for names of kids in the Crossroads that go above and beyond. Today we salute East High School sophomore and athlete Anthony Lopez, running back for the Eastside Beastside Titans!
Anthony's grandmother thought enough of her grandson that she took a bus to the station and it was more than heartwarming to hear her stories about Anthony's intrinsic motivation as a young athlete who supports his family starting at 4am every morning to feed his animals and drives to school for practice. Anthony does the grocery shopping for his family and works to help pay bills and buy groceries. Keep in mind this young man in only in the 10th grade. He gives his all on the field and in the classroom.
This week we salute Anthony Lopez and the young men and women in the community like him who overcome obstacles every day by doing their best no matter what challenges come their way.
Anthony has won a $50.00 cash card to use however he would like and is now registered to WIN a $1250.00 scholarship too thanks to Victory Auto Group.
