A malicious Texas man was arrested for violently murdering nearly 80 kittens inside an animal shelter she worked at.

One after another kittens mysterious began to die at the Weatherford animal shelter in Texas. In the beginning, feline disease was thought to be the cause of death. However, after sending in samples to be tested, diseases were ruled out. 

Concerned about possible conditions that could be killing so many kittens, the building received updates. According to a press release, "Staff installed additional HVAC systems, ensured proper cleaning procedures were followed, reviewed the chemicals in all cleaning products, implemented new policies, and closely tracked every missing or deceased animal."

On July 14, an employee discovered something sick and shocking. An employee glanced inside a holding room and caught 21-year-old animal care technician, Gabriel Skyler Caswell violently abusing a kitten.

Caswell immediately ran out of the shelter after realizing the coworker had called the police. Communications and Marketing Coordinator Oscar Diaz said in the press release, “For something like this to happen is unfathomable, and we are heartbroken by the harm caused.”

VIDEO CAPTURES MORE VIOLENT ABUSE

Police were given video footage showing Caswell beating another kitten on two separate occasions, then throwing the cat in the trash. After reviewing documents, they discovered Caswell had worked at the shelter from February to mid-July. Within that time nearly 80 kittens had died; in June alone, nearly 50 kittens died.

 Caswell was located and arrested and  now faces two 3rd-degree felony counts of animal cruelty, that could locker him up for 2-10 years in prison.
