Closure is overrated, The Texas Zoo is turning your ex into a stinky fish or roach this Valentine’s Day.

Eat Your Ex is back at the Texas Zoo.

The Texas Zoo is once again giving you a chance to turn heartbreak into payback by naming a roach or a very smelly fish after an ex, a situationship, or anyone who truly did you dirty. You can bask in the glory while you watch it get fed to one of the zoo’s animals.

Closure, but make it charitable.

These types of fundraisers always make me laugh; they're hilarious, yet so charitable. This hilarious and wildly popular fundraiser lets you pick the animal, name the snack, and let nature take its course. Sure, it’s slightly petty, but it’s all for a good cause.

How to name a roach or fish after your ex.

Eat the Ex feedings will be on February 14, 2026, from 10am- 4pm. First, you will need to go here to purchase a feeding: CLICK HERE.

Then, choose the animal you would like to purchase a feeding for. Texas Zoo offers feedings for the following animals:

  • Black Bear (feedings only available from noon to 1pm)
  • Bearded Dragon
  • Ducks
  • River Otter
  • Nile Monitor

Cost per feeding before February 8th is $5.00 per session

If you want to get really personal, you can choose the “IN PERSON” option. This allows you to not only name the stinky fish or roach after someone you despise, but then feed it to the animal yourself. If you aren’t able to be there in person, you can always select the "VIRTUAL" option, and the Texas Zoo will do the dirty work for you.

“One of our keepers will feed your 'ex' in your honor.”
Well isn’t that sweet?
