The DPS officer was responding to the tail end of a car chase. With his flashing light on, the officer ran through an intersection, and at the same time, a big 18-wheeler was coming to the same spot. The two collided and the patrol unit was severely crushed. The crash was so bad that the officers couldn't get out of their vehicle easily, according to DPS officials.

The situation started when Harris County sheriff's deputies and DPS officers were chasing a woman who didn't want to stop for an officer. The woman went into a garage in Katy, where she eventually hit a DPS patrol car and ran over an officer's foot before speeding off. "She just rammed the trooper's car. Looks like she just tried to run over a trooper," officials were heard reporting on radio traffic.

Finally, the officers used a pit maneuver to stop her car and arrested her. Thankfully, both officers are expected to fully recover.
