‘Justice League’ International Trailer: Batman Makes Some New Super-Friends
This new international trailer for Justice League isn’t nearly as long as the domestic trailers, but the latest sneak peek at Zack Snyder’s ambitious superhero team-up should hold you over until the next full-length preview drops. And despite its compact runtime, it does feature a little bit of new footage while teasing the mysterious new villain that will bring these heroic titans together, all set to a generic heavy rock cover of The Beatles’ “Come Together” that was clearly lifted from Snyder’s iPod circa 2001.
Justice League looks just as aesthetically dark and severe as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it seems like Snyder & Co. got the memo because there are some humorous elements — mostly via Jason Momoa’s grunt-y, Ron Swanson-esque take on Aquaman and Ezra Miller’s young Barry Allen, aka The Flash. Miller seems like he could be the real scene-stealer of Justice League, Aquaman surfing on the Batmobile be damned.
And let’s not forget Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, who stole the show with her expanded cameo in Batman v Superman and has her own solo film hitting theaters this year. The trailer also features a brief appearance from J.K. Simmons’ mustachioed Commissioner Gordon (not shown: those crazy biceps). Here’s the official synopsis for Justice League:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s (Henry Cavill) selfless act, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes -- Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash -- it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League also stars Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and Amber Heard as Mera, and hits theaters on November 17.
