The ongoing fight for the name of Jaime Y Los Chamacos has been going on for years. It's now over! As reported by El Chisme 361, a James Wells County judge has confirmed that Jaime De Anda is now prohibited from using the name Los Chamacos.
Jaime DeAnda violated the court’s original 2015 ruling regarding the use of the name Los Chamacos. The Judge ruled in favor of the current members of Los Chamacos, which Roel Joslin owns. Jaime can not use the name Los Chamacos for concerts, flyers, promotions, advertising, or on social media.
Furthermore, Jaime De Anda ordered the forfeiture of a previously posted bond. This means De Anda has two weeks to come up with an additional $20,000 related to the alleged violations, or he could face up to 180 days in jail. Get more details about the ongoing dispute by visiting Tejano Nation.
Jaime De Anda immediately removed the name Jaime Y Los Chamacos and changed it back to Jaime De Anda JDA. We wish both  Los Chamacos and JDA success moving forward.
In my opinion, the next step for both sides would be to release new, original music and create a new vibe for each side
Back in 1994, I saw Jaime Y Los Chamacos perform at the Club Westerner in Victoria. That is when I became a true fan of Tejano music. I have seen JYLC perform live over 40 times. Including shows in Victoria, Port Lavaca, Beeville, and San Antonio.
I consider this one of the best poppuris of all time.
