Texas Elementary Tejano School Band Cover’s Edila’s “Amor Eres Tu”

We just love seeing this! The next generation embracing our Tejano and Conjunto culture. The below video was shared by Elida Y Avante's Facebook page.  The video was originally posted by Santiago Castillo and features Los Fresnos Elementary on stage performing "Amor Eres Tu" that was released on her album entitled "Atrevete."  What an awesome sight!

Los Fresnos Elementary Conjunto competed a the 9th Annual "Texas Best" Conjunto Competition was put together by La Cultura Vive en Brownsville. 

This epic event featured 22 high school Conjunto groups from across South Texas, with three representing San Antonio and the remaining schools hailing from Rio Grande Valley cities along Highway 83, from Roma to Los Fresnos. Competitors will perform at the Beginner, Junior, and Varsity levels, with only Varsity-level Conjunto groups eligible for First, Second, and Third Place Awards.

Elida’s Farewell Tour Will be Making a Stop in Victoria in May

Elida announced her retirement from touring during a heartfelt press conference in her hometown of Mercedes, Texas, in October. She has planned a series of special performances to bid farewell to her fans.
