Gag reels are a gift given to us by the cinema gods. Who doesn’t enjoy beloved actors from a beloved series messing up their lines repeatedly while everyone else in the cast laughs at them? If a good blooper reel is the number one sign that production on a movie was fun, then Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 must have been a blast. Even if the actors clearly thought some of the lines they had to say sounded kind of ridiculous.

And stick around ’til the end, because, spoiler alert, Kurt Russell almost gets whacked in the face with a huge camera. Director James Gunn told Entertainment Weekly about how impressed he was that Russell didn’t even flinch.

Oh my god, yeah. And the amazing thing about that moment is that Kurt did not budge. You look at him, and he’s such a pro, that he’s just standing there. Oh my god, it went way too close. We were just an inch away from him getting his face broken open and that would have been the end of Kurt Russell on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. We would have had to reshoot everything with Pauly Shore.

I also hope that Sylvester Stallone finally learned how to say “Ravager.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is released digitally in HD, 4K Ultra HD, and Disney Movies Anywhere on August 8 and physically on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD August 22. There’s also a David Hasselhoff music video on it.
