Today we will add Emilio's 'Unsung Highways' to the best Tejano Albums of all time. This album was released in 1991 under the Capitol EMI Record Label. This release of this album is when Emilio's career entered the stratosphere. Up to this point, Emilio's biggest hits were Sensaciones, Pienso En Ti, and Fijate Mama. However, Unsung Highway's brought us 'Como Le Hare' and the rest is history! A few other monster hits from this album: Naciste Para Mi, Tu, Juntos, and Remedio de Amor. This album is absolutely incredible. Soon after the release of the album, we learned that the 'shoot it' dance move came as a package deal with his brother, Raulito.
Emilio performed many times in Victoria including that one time he sold out the Sun Valley Ranch! This show happened around 1995 right around the time that Emilio crossed over to Country. For a Crossover Tejano artist, his music did very well on the Country charts with 'It's Not the End of the World' peaking at #27 and 'Even If I Tried' peaking at #41. He did play those songs and most of his Country hits that night but Emilio's Tejano and Proud roots was the focal point of this show.
