Paul Stanley, John 5 + Joe Perry Lead Final 2018 Rock N’ Roll Fantasy Camps
The lineups for the final two installments of Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp have been unveiled. Paul Stanley of KISS and John 5 will be on hand in Las Vegas in October, while Joe Perry and Jason Bonham will lead the sessions in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. in November.
Paul Stanley and John 5 will be the featured performers in Las Vegas on Oct. 4-7. The two guitarists will be joined by former KISS shredder Tommy Thayer, former Ozzy Osbourne and Whitesnake drummer Tommy Aldridge and Quiet Riot bassist Rudy Sarzo. The event will culminate in a performance at the House of Blues, where campers will share the stage with the legends.
Stanley said, "The great thing about rock n' roll is you realize the top of the mountain is big enough for more than one band." He also added he's looking forward to playing some classics alongside the campers, “We're living in a time of being fed canned pre-programmed backing tracks and lip syncing in place of the electricity and passion of real live R&B. When I was a boy, before I ever saw the Who or Led Zeppelin, I saw Solomon Burke and Otis Redding. I saw the Temptations and all that music is part of the foundation of the music I've made."
Joe Perry of Aerosmith and Jason Bonham will be on hand to work with campers in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. on Nov. 8-11. They will be joined by former Dio drummer Vinny Appice, former Guns 'n Roses keyboardist Teddy Andreadis, former Prong and Madonna guitarist Monte Pittman, onetime Joan Jett guitarist Ricky Byrd and more.
Rock 'n’ Roll Fantasy Camp is celebrating its 22nd anniversary in 2018 and offers a unique, non-competitive opportunity for musicians of all talent levels to get up close and personal with music legends. Singers, bassists, guitarists and drummers will have the chance to jam and play songs with iconic artists.
The end of each camp culminates in a live performance where budding musicians share the stage with artists. Perry said the intimate performance at the end of camp is a highlight, “There's no doubt arena shows are exciting, but you don't get that up close and personal kind of vibe, and that's what rock n' roll is all about for me.”
In addition to the jam sessions and music lessons, Rock 'n’ Roll Fantasy Campers will also get to participate in Q&A sessions with the headliners, rock star counselors, photo opportunities and the chance to get memorabilia signed as well.
