The trial which started mid-august all the way in New York has lasted about six weeks and included over 45 witnesses testify in front of a judge.

The beginning of the end for R. Kelly, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly sat among a jury of his peers who would seal his fate. The jury consisted of seven men and five women, a nice healthy variety of genders to look upon a case that is extremely disturbing.

The disgraced R&B singer has been behind bars for a good part of 2019 for sex trafficking charges. The charges included not only sex trafficking charges but also sexual exploitation of children, forced labor, kidnapping among many other charges.

According to documents from The Eastern District of New York's Attorney's Office, "Kelly preyed upon young women and teenagers whose dreams of meeting a superstar, soon turned into a nightmare of rape, child pornography, and forced labor." Kelly used his social and celebrity status to influence his victims. He created rules for the females under his control which according to documents included "the women and girls were to call him “Daddy”; they were not permitted to leave their rooms to eat or visit the bathroom without receiving his permission."

There are so many victims in Kelly's case including the late singer Aaliyah who Kelly infamously married in 1994 when she was just a mere child- 15 years old. He did so by falsifying her age as 18 on the couple’s marriage license application.

Monday, September 27th R. Kelly has officially been found guilty on all counts in sex trafficking and racketeering trial. However, the singer still faces more charges in a separate case that will take place in Illinois and Minnesota. R.Kellys days in the limelight are over and done with and he will sit in a prison cell for a very very long time.
