Raconteurs Announce New Album, ‘Help Us Stranger’
The Raconteurs, the band formed by Jack White in 2005, will release their first album in 11 years on June 21. Help Us Stranger is the group's third LP, and first since 2008's Consolers of the Lonely.
The album was previewed late last year with a pair of new songs, “Sunday Driver” and “Now That You’re Gone,” both of which appear on Help Us Stranger.
You can see the album cover and track listing below.
The band -- which also includes Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence, and Patrick Keeler -- released its first album, 2006's Broken Boy Soldiers, in between two records by the White Stripes, 2005's Get Behind Me Satan and 2007's Icky Thump, their final LP.
Another White side project, the Dead Weather, released the first of its three albums, Horehound, in 2009; their latest release is 2015's Dodge and Burn.
White has also released three solo records since the Raconteurs' last album, with the most recent, Boarding House Reach, arriving last year.
Help Us Stranger's 12 songs were all written by White and Benson, except for a cover of Donovan's 1965 single "Hey Gyp (Dig the Slowness)." The LP was produced by the band and recorded at White's Third Man Studio in Nashville.
In addition to the usual releases, a special Vault Package from Third Man Records will be released that includes a limited-edition electric green/black/copper swirled vinyl LP; an exclusive moving image lenticular cover art; a 7" single featuring early demo recordings of “Help Me Stranger” and “Somedays (I Don’t Feel Like Trying)”; a bandanna; and an exclusive Raconteurs turntable slip mat.
Vault members will also be able to purchase pre-sale tickets for the band's upcoming tour. Dates for the shows will be announced soon.
