What I love about social media is the random things that will pop up on your feed. I came across an awesome video on TikTok a couple of days ago of rare footage showing Xelencia performing at the Sun Valley Ranch in Victoria in December 1993.

Everything about this video is fantastic! What I love the most is the old school vibe with those really big and hot par cans for stage lighting. That stage setup back then was considered big time for a Tejano band. And the best part is they sounded fantastic!

My first time seeing Xelencia perform in Victoria was at Roberto's

The first time I saw Xelencia perform in Victoria was at Roberto's Cocktails on Navarro. At the time, his drummer was a 12 or 13-year-old kid by the name of Joey JMZ Jimenez.

Joey was so electric on the drums that I remember his dynamic playing style and the passion in his face while he was playing from that night. I feel that Joey was playing the drums in this video, but I can't really tell. Someone send this to him.
