Following its premiere at the Cannes film festival, the first trailer for Spike Lee’s highly-anticipated BlacKkKlansman has landed online. Starring John David Washington (son of one Mr. Denzel Washington) and Adam Driver, Lee’s latest film looks like another instant classic from the prolific director behind Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X and Summer of Sam.
Hi. Hello. Welcome to 2018. As you force yourselves back into society after a long, carb-stacked holiday weekend and confront the monotony of “work” and “responsibility,” you may find yourself in need of a little pick-me-up. Enter the #KyloRenChallenge, courtesy of OG f—k boy John Mayer. Motivated by Adam Driver’s shirtless, beefy and oh-so-high-waisted bod in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Mayer shared his own take on the Look and inspired men everywhere (or on Instagram, whatever) to do the same. We’re not only here for it, but we would like to express our full, unwavering support for this ridiculous endeavor.
Had your fill of Star Wars news yet? No? Good. The floodgates are officially open, and even more photos and details from The Last Jedi have been unleashed. This time, we’re taking the path to the Dark Side with new intel on Supreme Leader Snoke and his “elite” Praetorian Guard — essentially an upgraded, more badass version of the series’ classic Imperial Guard.
As Silence prepares to hit select theaters this weekend (the rest of you will have to wait until January), Paramount has unveiled a new international trailer for Martin Scorsese’s long-developing passion project — an epic drama based on Japanese author Shusaku Endo’s acclaimed novel. There are a couple of notable things about this trailer for Silence: For one, it’s a bit more intense than the domestic versions, and because it’s a Japanese trailer, the Japanese cast members are more prominently featured.
Adam Driver has been having a pretty good year so far, despite the fact that this year’s Star Wars movie won’t feature his Force Awakens character Kylo Ren. He appeared alongside Michael Shannon in Midnight Special earlier this spring, and is set to be in two movies coming out this winter: Martin Scorsese’s Silence, which just got it’s premiere date, and Jim Jarmusch’s Paterson, which just got its first trailer.
