After taking a well-deserved break and tiding fans over with a hits collection last year, Seether are set to return with a new studio album. The band just announced that their sixth studio release will be titled 'Isolate and Medicate,' and it's currently on schedule for a July 1 street date.
Seether are working on a new album, but in the interim the band has a new hit on their hands. 'Weak' is featured on the band's hits collection, 'Seether 2002-2013,' that arrived late last year and now there's some visuals to go along with the track.
Seether are hitting the home stretch in recording their next album. The band, who ended 2013 by releasing a career-spanning hits collection, have been hard at work on a new record while their compilation keeps them in the minds of fans.
Bad news if you had your heart set on seeing Seether and Black Stone Cherry on this year's Rise Above Fest- No Texas dates are on the list. Their Spring North American tour launches April 18 in Huntington, N.Y. Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 7 at this location.
After a successful inaugural Rise Above Fest in 2012, Seether are bringing the event to a new venue in 2014. This year, Avenged Sevenfold will be the headliners for the May 10 festival in Bangor, Maine. Seether will of course be on the bill, as will Motorhead, Hellyeah, Trivium, Kyng, Devour the Day, Black Stone Cherry, Muckler's Circle and Skindred.
Seether frontman Shaun Morgan is the latest rocker to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela. A huge amount of musicians and other public figures have memorialized Mandela since he passed away on Dec. 5, but as a native South African, Morgan's statement is unique as he witnessed firsthand what it was like in his home country when Mandela was released from prison after 27 years.
Time flies when you're generating hit after hit and that's the case for Seether, who have amassed enough great material for the two-disc 'Seether 2002-2013' hits collection. The collection not only features all the familiar songs that fans have come to love, but a few b-sides, demos and newly recorded tracks that are serving as a jumping off point for their next studio album.
Seether are building up to the Oct. 29 release date of their two-disc collection of hits and rarities, 'Seether 2002-2013,' and Loudwire is exclusively streaming one of the compilation's rarities, 'Blister,' a song that was originally intended as a B-side for the 2005 album 'Karma and Effect' but was never officially released.
Earlier this year, Seether revealed they were working on three new tracks that would be released in 2013. But instead of being part of a new album, those songs will be included on 'Seether 2002-2013,' a 27-song, two-disc career retrospective to be released Oct. 29.
Seether have been laying low lately but the rock trio recently took to Twitter to give fans the lowdown on what’s going on in their world including the prospect of some new music in the near future.
