Over the weekend, Michael Salgado was performing in Stafford, Arizona, when he suffered a stroke on stage. It happened after he performed his opening song during his set. He was immediately taken off the stage and rushed to an area hospital in Stafford, Arizona.  He was then airlifted to a hospital in Tucson, Arizona, for further medical attention.

Michael Salgado is back home in San Antonio.

He was then flown back to San Antonio and is being closely monitored by his medical team. He is also undergoing further testing. At the direction of his medical staff, he has announced that he will be taking a break from touring to focus on healing. Michael Salgado has recently kicked off his 2026/27 tour, "The Next Chapter." We send our prayers to Michael Salgado to make a complete recovery.  We can't wait to see you back on stage in Victoria.
The announcement was made via social platforms.

Michael Salgado is a crowd favorite in Victoria.

Over the years, Michael Salgado has performed in Victoria many times and has created a massive following. I remember seeing Salgado back in the 90s in Victoria at Roberto's, Tejano Country, and the Sun Valley. His most recent performance in Victoria was in 2026 at the Tejas Fest Music Fest.
