If you’re looking for a fun holiday event to attend with family or friends and find yourself near Marble Falls during this season, the city is home to one of the largest holiday events in the area and waiting for you. Just an hour from Round Rock, Marble Falls is home to the Walkway of Lights, a walkable trail consisting of over 130 sculptures covered with two million lights in total at Lakeside Park. Beginning mid-November, running through January 2nd, the trail will run from 6 to 10 p.m. as the weather permits. On opening night, November 20th, there will be a light-up parade beginning at 5:30 p.m., set to extend 3 blocks to allow for social distancing. On weekends, as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, Santa and his elves will be at the trail to greet and visit with children. Ice skating will be available and while there is no cost to attend the trail, rentals with admission prices of $10 for children and $12 for adults (who are required to skate). Donations are welcomed to support the Walkway of Lights and local nonprofit organizations which will provide snacks and beverages at the trail.

The trail can take about 30 minutes to walk through, but families are welcome to stop and take photos next to the sculptures. If the weather doesn’t permit to walk through the trail, the decision to open or close is made at 3 p.m. each day. In this case, there are shops on Main Street near the trail and various other Christmas light displays throughout the area. Masks will be required to participate in all activities when social distancing is not maintainable.
