17 Year Old Amber Alert Victim Now at the Center of Murder Case
An Amber Alert issued for a young Texas teenage girl has now put her at the center of a murder case.
FROM AMBER ALERT TO MURDER SUSPECT
On Friday, September 1, the Dallas Police Department put out an Amber Alert for 17-year-old Natalie Navarro. The alert was issued believing Navarro was in “grave or immediate danger.”
Navarro was located soon after the alert was sent out, however, according to the Garland Police Department, on the same day an Amber Alert was issued, Navarro was also listed as a person of interest for the murder of 21-year-old Arturo Pena.
TEEN LOCATED AND ARRESTED
Garland Police Department located Navarro and took her into custody. According to jail records, Navarro was arrested on Friday and given a bond set at $1,000,000.
SECOND SUSPECT IS STILL AT LARGE
A second person was listed as a suspect in the murder of Pena. A murder warrant for 21-year-old Yordy Martinez. Police have yet to locate Martinez and he remains at large.
MOTIVES AND RELATIONSHIPS
It remains unclear what motives could have been or the relationship between the victim and suspects. “The reason why this happened, we’ve yet to determine that. We hope to get more when we talk to Natalie to see exactly what was going on if these persons knew each other if they had a relationship, if there was a falling out,” said Sergeant Richard Maldonado.
