We’ve already seen Atomic Blonde; at South by Southwest; our own Britt Hayes called it a “seductively chic story of intrigue” and said its hero, Charlize Theron’s Lorraine Broughton, should be added to the legacy of great action movie protagonists. You have not seen Atomic Blonde, so instead of taking our word for it, just watch this latest (and supposedly final) trailer instead.

It shows off plenty of David Leitch’s high-intensity stunt sequences, including an impressive long take where Charlize is pursued in a car chase, and she spins, shoots, and sends her target careening into an explosive crash. And then she tells her passenger to buckle his seatbelt, because practicing good automobile safety is the coolest thing any hero can do.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

The crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Lorraine Broughton (Theron) is equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission.  Sent alone into Berlin to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilized city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.

It’s impossible for movies to be inspired by Baby Driver yet (it just opened in theaters, like, today), but the way this thing is cut precisely to the music definitely feels reminiscent of it. That’s something that’s been used in other trailers before, I suppose. So perhaps the influence is really flowing in the other direction. Either way, Atomic Blonde opens in theaters on July 28.
