The Next Generation of Conjunto Music: The Ybarra Boys

The Ybarra Boyz are one of the many young groups ushering in the next generation of Tejano and Conjunto music. Brother duo Abraham and Rogelio Ybarra, both born and raised in McAllen, Texas. Abraham Ybarra, 11, plays the bajo quinto and Rogelio Ybarra III, 13, plays the Accordion.

I think it is incredible that these youngsters are paying homage to Conjunto legends such as Ruben Naranjo and and Angel Flores. However they have also release original material as well. Their latest single is a cumbia entitled "El Mosquito."

The Ybarra Boys have recently been featured on Rudy Trevino's Tejano Gold Countdown show.  Check out a few of their videos that will give you Puro Conjunto vibes. The first video is the one that started their viral success back in January of 2023, it has been viewed almost 800 thousand times.
