There is Such a Thing as a Free Lunch this Summer in Victoria

Another school year is over and summer vacation is upon us. For a lot of kids in Victoria, they won't have to go without a good breakfast or lunch thanks to the Seamless Summer Food Service Program.

Sponsored by the Victoria School District, the program ensures that kids 18 and under can get a free breakfast and lunch that follows the same nutritional guidelines as during the regular school year. According to a press release from VISD, the meals are available at specific times and locations and all the kids need to do to take advantage of it is to be there at the scheduled times. Of course, if the kids want breakfast, they won't be able to sleep in. Times and locations are as follows.

Hopkins Elementary, 110 Hopkins Road, June 3-Aug. 2; Breakfast 7:30am-9am; lunch 11am-12:30pm

Chandler Elementary, 5105 Guy Grant Road, June 3-Aug. 2; Breakfast 7:15am-8:15am, lunch 11:45am-12:45pm

Crain Elementary, 2706 N. Azalea Street, June 3-Aug. 2; Breakfast 8am-8:30am, lunch 11:30am-1pm

Smith Elementary, 2901 Erwin Ave., May 29-July 11; breakfast 7am-8:50am, lunch 11am-12:50pm
