November 11th Veterans Day

Today is November 11th and it is Veterans Day, a day to honor all who have served.

According to the VA History of Veterans Day, World War I officially ended when the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919. "However, fighting ceased seven months earlier between the Allied nations and Germany on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. For that reason, November 11, 1918, is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars.”

Please be sure to join the Veterans Day parade this morning at 10 am in downtown Victoria.
